The President of the Illinois Association of the Deaf, Corey Axelrod, joins Joel Barish at the Chicago DeafNation Expo! With Joel, Corey discusses IAD’s various goals, such as education. IAD has been working with the Illinois State Board of Education to make progress and focus on nursery homes and assisted living programs. More than that, they’re also planning on increasing their communication with the Illinois Deaf residents, create access to communication, particularly for emergency alerts for Deaf people in remote areas of Illinois, and more!
