A Day in Austin

Joel takes you on a tour of Austin, and shows you just how much you can actually do in a single day. He kicks off his day with a cup of coffee at Fair Bean Coffee, with a cup brewed by a Deaf barista. Then he heads to the Texas School for the Deaf and tours the school museum, chronicling the history of the school since 1856. For lunch, he eats the best burgers in Austin at Hut’s Hamburgers before taking a swim in the Barton Springs Pool. Joel visits one of the things that truly keeps Austin Weird, the Cathedral of Junk where one man’s trash is truly another’s treasure. Then Joel heads to the river with Austin Paddle Sports where he paddles a Stand Up Paddleboard. For dinner, eat a slice of authentic New York Pizza at Home Slice Pizza before taking a Segway tour of downtown Austin. There’s no better way to wrap up a wonderful day than to head to see the Congress Bridge Bats, where millions of bats fly out from under the bridge at sunset.
