Deaf Man Recognized for His Dispute Resolution Skills

Dennis Davidson of Austin, Texas is honored for his peacemaking efforts. Dennis, who was born deaf, is an excellent role model for the deaf. A Gallaudet alumnus and groundskeeper at the Texas Governor’s Mansion, he is a mediator and trainer and is building his own peacemaking practice.

The Dispute Resolution Center honored Dennis Davidson at its 6th Annual Peacemaker Awards event, praising him for his countless hours and numbers of mediations achieved. Davidson was recognized with the most mediations.

The DRC wrote, “He has been available to mediate on a weekly basis not only at the DRC, but also at Juvenile Court. He also has a special talent — he not only mediates in voice but also in Sign Language. His goal is to provide a safe and neutral environment to promote conflict resolution services for the Deaf Community.”
